Why Pilates?
In the last decade practicing Pilates has become popular among many men and women. A survey conducted in 2005 in the US determined that eleven million people enjoy Pilates regularly.
This method contributes to daily function, works on muscle strength while not neglecting their flexibility.
One of the greatest features of Pilates is that it works on all the body, upper body, legs, back and abdomen.
Pilates is much more vertebra and joints' friendly than weights and grants you with a larger range of movement.
Practice of Pilates is accompanied along with soothing background music. At the end of an exercise you feel better, stronger and even calmer in a better mood.
Thus Pilates is not an exercise that is good just for your body, but it is also well to your spirit and well-being.
A little bit of history
Pilates was created by Joseph Pilates. He first designed the method for motion-challenged people, but in 1926 promoted it through dancers as a system to improve the correlated physical and mental health.
Pilates named his method "Contrology" and only later the name "Pilates" was established and it became popular among the general public.
How to start?
Pilates lessons are taught in many facilities.
It is highly important to conduct it correctly, so personal or small groups of training is crucial for a beginner.
Working out in Pilates can with instruments or alternatively it can be practiced simply on a mattress and sometimes including accessories, such: rubber rope, ball and so forth.
Of course if you are well familiar with Pilates you can also practice it at home, using guiding books or videos.
Pilates is a great method to stay in shape and feel good. It suits every one, men and women, youngsters and older, athletes and non-athletes, if it works for them, why it won't for you?
